Emergency/Critical Care
Our pediatric emergency/critical care team provides both acute and episodic care to any child in
need, as well as therapeutic services for children with life-threatening illnesses or injuries.
Emergency services for children are provided in a dedicated area of the MUSC Emergency Care.
Inpatient critical care services are centered in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - a 10-bed unit
designed to care for critically-ill children.
Our pediatric emergency/critical care team works closely with the MUSC MEDUCARE pediatric transport team.
Transport services may be provided by our helicopter or ground mobile intensive care units.
