Residency and Fellowship Programs
Our pediatric residency and fellowship programs are a key component of the MUSC Children's Hospital family. Our residents
play a critical role in the comprehensive care we provide to our patients. Our training programs are designed to provide a broad pediatric educational experience. Our fully-accredited
program strives to give our residents and fellows an educational experience that represents all aspects of
pediatric medicine and some subspecialties.
Our program provides a broad clinical pediatric experience in an academic setting which includes
the following:
- outpatient primary care in a university-based and university-staffed clinic organized on a community practice model
- primary and secondary care of inpatients with acute diseases
- tertiary outpatient and inpatient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in all pediatric subspecialties.
The curriculum is designed to offer excellent training in general pediatrics, extensive subspecialty
experience and exposure to an academic environment which prepares the resident for further training,
if desired.
