Prior to selecting MUSC, I did an extensive search of multiple programs east of the Mississippi. Not only did I fall in love with the program, but the charming, historic city of Charleston swept me off my feet.
Upon determining MUSC was a strong program, the next most important criteria is the people. I have learned though my life experiences that this is the quintessential determinant for a successful program. The residents here are some of the best men and women I have ever worked with and I feel honored to have been a part of this tradition. Here at MUSC, we all look out for one and other and help a fellow comrade when he/she is down. Residency is tough! There can be no denial. In my opinion, the best way to survive residency is through your classmates who become your extended family.
If you are looking for a program with strong academics, top notch residents working together and state of the art facilities, then the sunny beaches, fine dining and historic charm of Charleston is just an added bonus - MUSC is it!!
